Abstract: | Simple theoretical consideration on the coupling of neighboring two identical oscillators under nonequilibrium open conditions suggests that there exist two phase-locking modes with in-phase and antiphase. In the actual experiment for the coupled oscillators using ion-exchange beads in BZ reaction, it is shown that in-phase mode is generated where the void space between the beads conducts the role of a pacemaker. It is also shown that both in-phase and anti-phase modes are induced in the coupling between two coupled PET-bottle oscillators; synchronization of the periodic fluid flow in interconnected bottles which are situated upside-down. |
