Abstract:
The neutron spin-echo spectrometer ISSP-NSE at JRR-3M has encountered a shortage of the neutron intensity. In order to solve this problem, we installed a 2-dimensional position sensitive detector (2-D PSD) with an assemble of 8 1-dimensional PSDS of 1/2 inch in diameter and 60 cm long and ensured the wider detect area of neutron. We also have been developing a NSE measurement system "NeuSEMS" with the 2-D PSD and an analysis program of 2-D data "EFP". The system was controlled by a personal computer and the programs were written with LabVIEW (National Instruments Co.). We can use the scattered neutrons with large angular divergences and also upgrade the NSE performance by specifying each particular neutron path using the 2-D PSD system.
